    Citation Excerpt :

In HFpEF, a clinical syndrome accompanied by a multitude of comorbidities, symptoms can, however, be nonspecific. Furthermore, physical examination findings poorly correlate with hemodynamic status, as compensatory mechanisms may mask elevations in intracardiac filling pressures and as a patient’s body habitus may limit the diagnostic accuracy of the examination (1,2,16–18). Despite these limitations and despite varying specificity of these HF signs and symptoms, in the present study, greater burden of HF signs and symptoms at randomization identified patients with HFpEF at increased risk for subsequent HHF and CV death.
